Michael Ruff

Michael Ruff is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in hardware design and development. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer on the CTO Staff at SiFive since March 2022, Michael focuses on architecting next-generation intelligence cores and technologies for AI workloads. Prior to this role, Michael held positions at Microsoft as a Principal Hardware Engineer, leading a team in cloud hardware infrastructure development, and at Intel Corporation as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer overseeing RTL design for test chip development. Michael's career spans various companies including Micron Technology, Convey Computer, Texas Instruments, Chiaro Networks, Matrox, Hewlett-Packard, and Convex Computer Corp, where expertise in ASIC and FPGA design, team management, and cross-functional collaboration was demonstrated. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
