Rick Chen serves as a Sr. Staff Design Engineer at SiFive since 2021, specializing in CPU memory subsystem design. Prior to this, Rick worked at Arm from 2013 to 2020 as a Senior Engineer, focusing on L2 memory system design for next-generation A class CPUs, top-level and L1 memory system verification for Cortex-R52, and developing software test libraries for functional safety, along with memory controller verification. From 2010 to 2013, Rick was a Principal Engineer at TSMC, contributing to computational lithography R&D and developing Optical Proximity Correction for advanced technology nodes. Rick holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, completed in 2010.
