Peter Ryan

Peter Ryan, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the financial regulatory field. Peter currently holds the position of Managing Director, Head of International Capital Markets and Strategic Initiatives at SIFMA, where their responsibilities include coordinating advocacy on international regulatory issues. Prior to this, they worked at Credit Suisse as the Director, Head of U.S. Regulatory Policy and also served as the Vice President of Federal Regulatory Affairs. Peter has also worked at the Bipartisan Policy Center - Financial Regulatory Reform Initiative as a Senior Policy Analyst and Policy Analyst, focusing on regulatory issues related to large financial institutions. Additionally, Peter has experience as a Consultant at Third Way and as a Research Coordinator at the University of California, Washington Center. Peter has also worked as a Research Associate at the Haas School of Business and as a Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley. Peter's work experience showcases their expertise in financial regulation and involvement in policy development.

Peter Ryan, Ph.D. earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2006 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Political Science from the same institution, completed from 2006 to 2007. Peter also holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin, which they completed in 2006. Lastly, they received their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Government and Public Policy from University College Cork, which they completed from 2001 to 2005.
