Steve Shucker

Principal Devops/site Reliability Engineer

Steve Shucker has a diverse work experience in software engineering and infrastructure roles. Steve started their career at the University of Arizona, where they developed online sales systems and supported a system for ordering textbooks. Steve then worked at Running Start, Inc. as a Software Engineer for a short period before joining the Community Partnership of Southern Arizona as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led the development of an intranet system.

Steve then moved to Video Monitoring Services, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer and led the development of the company's order entry and sales tracking system. Steve used Groovy with the Grails framework stack for this project.

After that, Steve joined SigFig as a Senior Software Engineer and later transitioned into a Principal DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer role. During their time at SigFig, they worked on various projects such as creating multiple environments with Terraform, migrating to AWS, and lifting and shifting servers to EC2. Steve also dockerized services and worked on building Kubernetes infrastructure.

Overall, Steve has extensive experience in software engineering, infrastructure management, and cloud migration.

Steve Shucker attended the University of Arizona from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science.
