Samira P.

Samira P. has over 10 years of professional experience in the software engineering and development industry. Samira began their career in 2009 as a Teaching Assistant at SNDT University, where they taught Java and C++ to undergraduate students. In 2010, they joined Tech MahindraMum as a Technical Associate, where they designed numerous software solutions and developed applications for the migration of customer centric databases with more than 10 million records. In 2013, they became a Graduate Student and MATLAB Teaching Assistant at New York University. Here, they taught undergraduate students to develop programs in MATLAB and groomed students by developing their problem solving skills. In 2015, Samira joined Dow Jones as an Application Developer, where they designed and developed RestAPI to migrate all internal documents to S3 and build front end for easy access. Samira also developed web applications for admins to manage 2000+ users, designed, developed and maintained multiple features in widely used News Streaming single page web application, refactored applications improving the performance and availability, implemented alerting, monitoring and error logging, and built infrastructure to migrate multiple web services to AWS. In 2021, they joined Meta as a Software Engineer and in 2023, they joined Sigma Computing as a Software Engineer.

Samira P. obtained a Diploma in Computer Science from M. H. Saboo Siddik Polytechnic between 2003 and 2006. Samira then went on to receive a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Computer Science and Technology from SNDT University between 2006 and 2009. Finally, they earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from New York University between 2013 and 2014.
