Tristan Smith

Tristan Smith has extensive work experience in various technical and leadership roles. Tristan most recently served as the Senior Director of Technical Program Management at Signifyd, starting in January 2022. Prior to that, they were the Director of R&D Operations at Signifyd from September 2020 to January 2022. Tristan also held the position of Director of Engineering at Signifyd from January 2020 to September 2020. Before joining Signifyd, they worked as a Software Engineering Manager at Signifyd from July 2016 to January 2020 and as a Software Engineer from August 2015 to July 2016.

Tristan's earlier experience includes working as a Project Lead at Mission Critical Technologies (MCT), NASA Ames Research Center from October 2007 to July 2015. Tristan also worked at On Time Systems, Inc., where they held the roles of Chief Scientist from 2006 to 2007, Senior Research Analyst from 2004 to 2006, and Software Engineer from 2000 to 2004. Their earliest role was as a Mathematics Teacher at Casablana American School from 1998 to 2000.

Tristan Smith obtained a B.A. degree in Mathematics from Williams College between the years 1994 and 1998. Following that, they pursued a Ph.D. degree in Computer and Information Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Oregon from 2001 to 2004. In addition to their academic qualifications, Tristan has also obtained certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance in March 2014.
