Robert Metcalfe has a wealth of work experience. Robert began their career in 2004 as an Assistant Economist with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). In 2009, they were a Fitzjames Research Fellow in Economics at the University of Oxford and a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. From 2012 to 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Economics at the University of Chicago and a Reidy Family Career Development Assistant Professor at Boston University. In 2015, they co-founded The Behaviouralist, a company that provides cutting-edge academic research and development for companies. In 2019, they were a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Co-Founder of Signol. Currently, they are an Associate Professor of Economics and a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Southern California.
Robert Metcalfe obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Geography from Swansea University between 2000 and 2003. Robert then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) between 2005 and 2006. Finally, they completed a PhD in Economics from Imperial College London between 2006 and 2010.
