Sylvie Lu has five years of work experience. In 2015, they began as a Fashion Designer for Npaia Garment Retailer. In 2017, they moved to Bordlam Silk Product Ltd as a Graphic Designer. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Digital Designer at De Montfort University, where they explored the possibilities of integrating machine learning into a smart-design system to minimise food waste at a domestic level in the U.K. In 2021, they began as a UX/UI Designer for a Side Project, designing an app called Podcast Snippet to improve the situation of how audio information, particularly from podcasts, can be retrieved, located, and organised. Sylvie conducted over 50 hours of virtual interviews, created lo-fi wireframes for discussions with the PM, designed the mockup of the product, and conducted remote usability tests for the mock up prototype, making adjustments based on the test results. Sylvie is currently employed as a UX/UI Design Researcher for Signol since 2022.
Sylvie Lu has a diverse educational background. Sylvie began their studies in 2012 when they attended Shih Chien University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design in 2017. In 2018, they went on to pursue a Master's degree in Design Innovation Human Centre Design at De Montfort University, which they completed in 2019. In 2020, they enrolled in the Royal Horticultural Society and obtained a Royal Horticultural Society Level 2 Qualification in Horticulture in 2021.
