Patrick Dyson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.
Patrick started their career at Apple Computer in 1988 as an Engineering Manager, where they developed networking software and led small teams. Patrick then moved on to Coactive Computing, where they served as a Product Manager and developed a network stack and email application.
In 1994, Dyson joined Splash Technology as a Software Engineering Manager, where they led a geographically distributed group working on network software for a printer controller. Patrick was involved in developing protocols for connectivity and management and also worked on creating a real-time multiple host distributed system.
In 2000, Dyson joined Waveset Technologies as an Engineer and later transitioned to Sun Microsystems as a Software Engineering Manager. At Sun Microsystems, they worked on rapid development applications and held various roles until they became the Director of Engineering. Patrick oversaw the Identity Manager products and managed engineering and technical writer teams. Patrick also acted as the executive sponsor for selected customers.
Dyson's entrepreneurial spirit led him to join Tokoni as a VP of Engineering in 2007 and later become a Technical co-founder of Ongo Inc. in 2009. At Tokoni, they focused on getting the first product out and building a development organization. Ongo Inc. was a Silicon Valley-based subscription mobile news business.
Most recently, Dyson worked at SignUp.com (formerly VolunteerSpot) as the CTO. Patrick was responsible for providing millions of people with free, easy-to-use tools and resources for coordinating people and activities.
Throughout their career, Dyson has shown expertise in software engineering, product management, and leadership roles.
Patrick Dyson attended Rice University from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematical Science and a Bachelor of Math Sciences degree in Applied Mathematics.
