Pascal Fender is currently a Directeur de recherche (DR1) at the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) and holds positions as an expert at Lyonbiopôle and a scientific advisor at SILAB. They are involved with the Host Pathogen Interaction Club since 2020. Pascal completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Université Grenoble Alpes from 1994 to 1997 and earned a DEA in Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire from the same institution between 1992 and 1993. Prior to these, they studied Microbiology at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and earned a DEUG from Université de Limoges.
