Gerald Miller

Gerald Miller has an extensive work experience spanning over a decade. Gerald began their career at APIC Corp in 2011, where they held the position of Senior Photonics Engineer. During their tenure, Gerald conducted research and development in photonics on both silicon and III/V platforms. Gerald specifically focused on developing group IV materials for lasing applications and high power, highly linear receivers in the InP material system. Gerald worked at APIC Corp until December 2014.

In 2015, Gerald joined Mellanox Technologies as a Senior Engineer and later became a Staff Engineer in 2017. At Mellanox Technologies, they contributed to various engineering projects. After three years, Gerald moved on to Rockley Photonics Inc. in 2018. There, they served as a Laser Design Engineer and played a significant role in the design and development of laser technology until February 2023.

Currently, Gerald Miller is employed at SiLC Technologies, Inc as a Lead Laser Design Engineer. Gerald joined the company in January 2023 and continues to utilize their expertise in laser design to contribute to the advancement of technology.

Gerald Miller received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from UC Santa Barbara, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Gerald then pursued further education at Caltech, obtaining their Ph.D. in Applied Physics from 2004 to 2011.
