John Phillips

John Phillips is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in packaging development and manufacturing engineering. Currently serving as Packaging Development Manager at Silgan Containers since March 2006, John recruits and trains Packaging Engineers, directs engineering activities, and manages commercialization projects while providing strategic recommendations to the GM of Engineering. Previously, John held positions including Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Manufacturing Engineer - R&D at Silgan Containers, where responsibilities included overseeing engineering teams, managing commercial projects, and interfacing with various internal groups to achieve quality and financial objectives. John also contributed to Innotec as a Manufacturing Engineer, supervising engineering design and implementing continuous improvement projects. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
