Isabel Rocha is a biotechnology professional who has held leadership roles in academia, industry, and collaborative laboratories. They are the founder of SilicoLife (since 2010) and the principal investigator at ITQB-UNL (since 2019). They also hold leadership positions as president of InnovPlantProtect CoLab (since 2019), vice-president of BIOREF (since 2019), and administrator at Madan Parque (since 2018). Previously, Rocha was an assistant professor at the University of Minho (2004–2017) and at the MIT-Portugal Program (2007–2017), a post-doctoral researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (2004), and a visiting scholar at MIT (2007), and served as president of APBio (2009–2011) and as vice-rector of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2017–2021). They earned an MSc in Biological Engineering from Universidade do Minho (1997) and a PhD in Biotechnology from Universidade do Minho (2003).
