João Simões

João Simões is a senior strain developer at SilicoLife, specializing in unlocking access to pure ingredients through precision fermentation. Prior to this, João worked as a scientist and strain engineer at CEB, focusing on characterizing and selecting microorganisms for industry use. João also served as the scientific director of the Genomics' Unit at Biocant, managing projects and leading a team of researchers. With a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Universidade de Aveiro, João has a strong background in research and project management in various scientific settings.
