Mark Pinto

Mark Pinto, a senior technology executive who has led innovative organizations across the semiconductor, telecommunication, displays and renewable energy industries, joined the Silicor Materials Board of Directors in 2013. Most recently Dr. Pinto served as executive vice president at Applied Materials. He initiated the company’s solar business, generating more than $5B of total revenue.

Dr. Pinto also led Applied Materials’ display business, focusing on delivering low cost HDTVs and new applications such as touch screens. Prior to Applied Materials, Dr. Pinto spent 19 years with Bell Laboratories, and previously the Lucent Microelectronics Group, where he served in R&D and business management roles. Dr. Pinto received a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Stanford University, and bachelor’s degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
