Ian Carter is an experienced engineer specializing in optics and optical sciences, currently serving as an Optics Research and Development Fiber Sensing Engineer at Silixa Ltd. since June 2018, where responsibilities include planning and designing distributed temperature sensing systems as well as constructing and splicing fiber optic systems. Prior to this role, Ian worked as a Business Modelling Analyst at Telereal Trillium, focusing on data analysis and financial modeling, and gained research experience at the University of Exeter as a Research Scientist. Ian holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master’s Degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from Imperial College London, as well as a Master’s Degree in Physics from the University of Exeter.
