Scott Sides

Scott Sides is a Senior Engineering Manager at SmartSpice Group, specializing in scientific software development and project management across various simulation methods. They have significant experience as the primary investigator on the Chemistream project, which focuses on materials simulation workflows on HPC cloud resources, and are currently developing AI/ML methods to design new materials. Previously, Sides served as a Research Scientist at Tech-X Corporation, contributing to the development of high-performance codes, and held positions at institutions such as UC Santa Barbara and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where they advanced computational models and workflows. They earned a PhD in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from Florida State University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
