Hugh Maclean currently serves as the Head of Performance at Silverstream Technologies since December 2024. Prior to this role, Hugh worked at Steller Systems Ltd. as an Engineering Manager and Principal Naval Architect from February 2022 to October 2024, and held the position of Senior Design Engineer at AutoNaut from October 2017 to December 2018. Hugh also has experience as a Naval Architect and project manager at MOST-AV from June 2013 to December 2014, specializing in the design of a wave-propelled autonomous vessel prototype. Additional experience includes working as a Naval Architect specializing in Hydrodynamics at BMT Defence Services Ltd. from July 2012 to June 2013, and at Seaspeed Marine Consulting Ltd. from March 2015 to March 2017. Hugh returned to AutoNaut where Hugh served as Engineering Manager from December 2018 to December 2021. Hugh holds a Master’s Degree in Ship Science, Small and Yacht Craft from the University of Southampton, earned between 2008 and 2012.
