Derek Weitz

Derek Weitz has over 25 years of experience in the IT field. In 1997, they began their career as a Systems Admin at 3dfx. The following year, they worked as an IT Consultant at WebNexus. In 1999, they moved to Equinix as a Sr. Systems Administrator. From 2002 to 2015, they worked at iPass, where they held multiple roles such as Head of Operations, Director Global IT, and Manager, Systems Architect. During their time at iPass, they managed IT staff across 3 offices and 2 colocation centers in the US and India, designed and implemented IT infrastructure, and initiated and managed the migration of the company's messaging infrastructure. From 2015 to 2022, they worked at Quicken Inc. as a DevOps Engineer and IT Leader. In their role as IT Leader, they managed IT staff across 3 offices and 2 colocation centers in the US and India, designed and implemented Office 365, Okta, collaboration platforms, DNS, Active Directory, Domains, Certificates, Jamf and Encryption. Currently, they are a CI CD Engineer at SiMa.ai.

Derek Weitz attended West Valley College from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a degree in General Education. Derek also holds a certification in MCTIP.
