Dan Houck has had a long and varied career in software development. Dan began in 1984 as an Associate at Insight Automation Systems and a Developer at Scientific Systems Services, Inc. In 1986, they became a Programmer at SPEC. Two years later, in 1988, they moved to Hudson Highland Group as a Software Developer. In 2000, they were a Contractor at AS&E. The following year they became a Developer via Hudson at Mittal Steel USA. In 2006, they moved to Arcelor Mittal as a Developer. Finally, in 2017, they joined Simio LLC as a Software Developer.
Dan Houck attended Hampton High School before beginning their college education at the University of Arizona in 1970, studying Physics. Dan then transferred to the University of Pittsburgh, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), B.S in Computer Science and Industrial Engineering in 1976. Dan continued their studies at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics in 1978.
