Mike Royal

Mike Royal has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mike started their career as a Webmaster at Legerity in 1997 and worked there until 2004. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as a Web Consultant at Ventana del Soul and also served as an Interactive Development Manager at nFusion during the same period. In 2007, Mike joined Nehmedia, LLC as a Senior Software Architect and remained there until 2012. Mike then joined Epicor Software Corp as a Senior Software Engineer from 2013 to 2014, where they specialized in Java application development and implemented various tools. Mike returned to Nehmedia in 2014, taking on multiple roles including Senior Software Engineer, Dev Ops Engineer, and Data Wrangler. It was during this time that they also worked on contract as a Senior Software Engineer at Tahiti Blue Interactive, building websites and a gamified education web app. Finally, in 2019, Mike joined Simon Data as a Full Stack Engineer, where they currently work.

Mike Royal attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1996 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Their areas of study included Computer Science, Math, and Japanese. In addition to their formal education, they also hold several certifications. In April 2019, they completed a certification in Deep Learning in Python from DataCamp. Prior to that, in September 2018, they obtained certifications in Importing Data in R (Part 1) Course and Introduction to the Tidyverse Course, also from DataCamp. In August 2018, they completed a certification in Intermediate R Course, as well as Introduction to R Course. Their earliest certification is in Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Advanced, which they obtained in December 2015. These certifications demonstrate their ongoing commitment to learning and staying up-to-date with relevant skills.
