Shannon Pender is an experienced marketing professional in the publishing industry. Currently serving as the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing at Simon & Schuster since September 2024, prior roles include Senior Marketing Manager at Penguin Random House, where Shannon developed marketing plans for a young adult list and managed campaigns for bestselling authors from September 2022 to September 2024. At Scholastic, Shannon held the position of Marketing Manager from November 2019 to August 2022, overseeing the creation of promotional materials and leading marketing initiatives for young adult titles. Earlier experience includes Associate Marketing Manager and Marketing Associate roles, as well as an Editorial Intern position at the National Book Foundation. Shannon's career began with public relations work for Heinz Chapel Choir while earning a Bachelor's Degree in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh.
