Marco Barbone is a PhD student at Imperial College London, specializing in high performance computing, algorithms, parallel and distributed systems, and programming. They served as a member of the Cancer Research UK Convergence Science Centre Training Committee from 2021 to 2024, representing the convergence science PhD cohort. With experience as a research analyst at the Simons Foundation and current work as a software engineer there, Marco has also held positions as a research software engineer at Maxeler Technologies and an intern at CERN, where they contributed to the Imperial-CMS Experiment Group. Marco holds multiple degrees, including a Master's degree in Computer Science and Networking from both Università di Pisa and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.
