Ryan Shepherd

Ryan Shepherd has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ryan is currently the Head of Data Engineering at SimpleLab Inc., starting in April 2022. Prior to this, Ryan founded their own company called Databrook in December 2019.

From 2012 to 2019, Ryan worked at Gaine Solutions, Inc., where they held multiple roles. As the Vice President of Development from October 2018 to December 2019, they oversaw the scale-up of the development department and designed the Symphony data model. As the Development and Operations Manager from June 2015 to October 2018, they organized sprints, managed developers, and made hiring decisions. And as the Lead Software Developer from October 2012 to June 2015, Ryan specialized in enterprise data management, ETL processes, and database design.

Ryan also has experience as a Freelance Software Developer from March 2012 to February 2013. Additionally, they served as the Director of Conservation and Ecology at Western Los Angeles County Council, Boy Scouts of America from August 2008 to March 2011, where they developed a new program and secured funding for energy and water efficiency projects.

Ryan Shepherd attended UC San Diego from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. Ryan later obtained additional certifications, including MCSE: Data Platform from Microsoft in May 2013, and MCSA: SQL Server 2012 from Microsoft in April 2013.
