Senior Product Manager at SimplePractice

Kate McChesney has extensive work experience in product management and education. Kate is currently working as a Senior Product Manager at SimplePractice since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Follett as a Senior Product Manager from October 2018 to April 2021, where they managed an award-winning digital educational product and established a customer research strategy. Kate was also recognized for their commitment to customers.

Before Follett, Kate worked at Pearson as a Product Manager from April 2016 to September 2018, where they managed a digital educational product and significantly increased its active user rate. Kate also served as an Associate Media Specialist at Pearson from September 2013 to March 2016, managing production and initiating integrations with internal technology teams.

Earlier in their career, Kate worked as an Editorial Intern at Pearson and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Miami University, where they presented at the Council for Undergraduate Research's Posters on the Hill. Kate also held meetings with congressional staffers to advocate for the importance of undergraduate research.

Kate's work experience also includes a summer internship as a Marketing and Customer Service Intern at RLAC - Reading and Language Arts Centers, Inc., where they focused on tutoring students and training educators.

Throughout their career, Kate has demonstrated strong leadership, customer focus, and innovation in the field of education and product management.

Kate McChesney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Miami University, which they attended from 2009 to 2013. In August 2011, they obtained a certification in Phonics First from RLAC - Orton-Gillingham IMSLEC Accredited, Reading & Language Arts Centers, Inc. Additionally, in June 2013, they obtained an Ohio Teaching License as an Intervention Specialist K-12 (Mild-Moderate) from the Ohio Department of Education. Kate then pursued a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2016. In October 2016, they also obtained a SAFe Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
