Tim McDonald serves as the Vice President of Engineering at SIMPSON since January 2025, leading the global engineering function and overseeing innovation in product design and development. Previously, McDonald held significant roles at Visteon Corporation from 1998 to 2003 as Engineering Manager and Tech Sales Manager, followed by positions at NSK Steering Systems America from 2003 to 2005, where responsibilities included spearheading the design and development of steering systems. McDonald also served as Director of Product Engineering, leading the development of steering columns for various automotive manufacturers. Prior to joining SIMPSON, McDonald was the Director of Engineering at Dometic from July 2021 to January 2025, focusing on product development for recreational marine applications. McDonald holds multiple degrees, including a BSME in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University and an MSME in Structural Analysis from Purdue University, along with education in Strategic Leadership and Finance from the University of Michigan and the American Management Association.
