Sean McMillan

Director of Managed Services and Training at SIMS Software

Sean McMillan has been working in the security and law enforcement field since 1999. Sean began their career as a Police Officer at the Waynesboro Police Department. In 2001, they moved to USIS as an Investigator, conducting security background investigations for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and other government agencies. From 2003 to 2010, they worked as a Special Agent for the US government, providing oversight and guidance to Industrial Partners during construction of facilities and SCIFs which comply with DCID 6/9 standards. From 2010 to 2019, they were Senior Manager & Corporate Facility Security Officer at Fluor, where they ensured Fluor Corporation’s performance on classified and government projects met client’s security requirements and expectations for protecting information affecting national defense per National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). In 2019, they began working at Highlander Government Security Consulting as a Security Consultant, providing security consultation to help identify gaps and opportunities. In 2020, they moved to SIMS Software as Director of Managed Services and Training, designing and providing training for all SIMS products. In 2021, they began working at Clemson University as Director & Facility Security Officer.

Sean McMillan obtained a Facility Security Officer certification from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) in August 2012. Sean is currently enrolled at Radford University.
