Joachim Haga has extensive work experience in the field of scientific programming and research. Joachim is currently working as the Chief Research Engineer at Simula Research Laboratory since May 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Scientific Programmer at Bluware from May 2019 to June 2022. From August 2011 to May 2019, Joachim worked as a Senior Scientific Programmer at Kalkulo AS. Earlier in their career, they were a PhD student at Simula Research Laboratory from 2006 to 2011. Joachim also has experience as a Developer at Telenor Mobil and as a Consultant at Aston Technology, both from 1998 to 2002.

From 1995 to 1999, they attended Heriot-Watt University, where they obtained a Bachelor/Honours degree in Computer Science. Following this, from 2001 to 2004, they attended the University of Oslo (UiO) and earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics.

Continuing their education at the University of Oslo (UiO), they pursued a Master's degree in Computational Physics from 2004 to 2006. Subsequently, from 2006 to 2011, Joachim Haga attended the University of Oslo (UiO) again and completed a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science.
