Karl Munthe

PHD Researcher at Simula Research Laboratory

Karl Munthe is currently a PhD Researcher at Simula Research Laboratory, having joined in May 2023. Prior to this role, Munthe served as a Software Engineer at Shearwater GeoServices from May 2022 to May 2023 and as a C++ Developer with Experis Academy Norway between January 2022 and May 2023. Munthe's earlier experience includes tutoring high school students in math and science at ENT3R and Privatundervisningen AS from August 2019 to June 2019, and supporting university students as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Bergen. Munthe also contributed as a Science Teacher and Teacher Assistant at Sommerskolen Oslo, focusing on mathematics, computer science, and environmental science. Munthe's academic background includes a Master of Science in Computational and Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Math and Physics from the University of Bergen, along with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. Munthe was also a student athlete on the Freestyle Ski Team at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2014 to 2016.
