Marie Rognes

Chief Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory

Marie Rognes has a strong background in research and has held various positions throughout their career. Marie began their work experience as a Research Fellow at the Centre of Mathematics for Applications in 2005, where they focused on mathematical and numerical analysis of partial differential equations. Marie held this position for three years, until 2008. In 2009, Marie joined the Simula Research Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Fellow, and their work there involved research in a variety of roles. In 2012, they became a Senior Research Scientist and Head of Department, a position they held until 2016. In 2016, they were promoted to Chief Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory, where they continue their work.

Marie Rognes completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 2000 to 2003. Marie then pursued a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics with a focus on partial differential equations at the same university from 2003 to 2005. Later, from 2005 to 2009, Marie Rognes continued their education at the University of Oslo (UiO) and obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics.
