Shaukat Ali

Chief Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory

Shaukat Ali has a diverse work experience spanning multiple research laboratories, universities, and companies. Shaukat began their career in 2003 as a Lecturer at Newport College Islamabad and later worked as a Lecturer and Multimedia Lab In-charge at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University. During this time, they also held the position of a Research Assistant. In 2006, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Verification and Testing Lab at The University of Sheffield in the UK. Shaukat then joined Carleton University in Canada as a Teaching Assistant and also worked as a Visiting Researcher at the SQUALL Lab. In 2012, they collaborated with FMC Technologies, Beihang University, and Kongsberg Maritime. Shaukat also worked as a Collaborator at Cisco Systems from 2008 to 2018. Currently, Shaukat Ali holds the position of Chief Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory, where they previously held roles as a Senior Research Scientist and Research Scientist.

Shaukat Ali began their education in 1999 at Hamdard University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science degree in 2003, with a focus on Computer Science. Shaukat then pursued a Master of Science degree in Systems and Software Engineering at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU), from 2003 to 2005. Shaukat went on to further their education at the University of Oslo (UiO), where they completed their PhD in Software Engineering from 2007 to 2011. In 2019, they attended the Stanford University Graduate School of Business for a program in Managing Teams for Innovation and Success, although the field of study is not specified.
