Simula Research Laboratory
Steven Hicks is an accomplished professional in the field of computer science, currently serving as an Associate Professor at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University and a Lecturer at BI Norwegian Business School. With extensive experience as a Research Scientist and Researcher at Simula Research Laboratory and ForzaSys, respectively, Steven has also held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD Student. Prior teaching experience includes a Lecturer role at Kristiania University College. Early career roles include Frontend Developer at DHIS 2 and Full Stack Developer at Axiom Norway. Steven holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from OsloMet, along with a Master's degree from the University of Oslo and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Agder.

Simula Research Laboratory's main objective is to create knowledge about fundamental scientific challenges that are of genuine value for society. Important research with long-term impact in the fields of networks and distributed systems, scientific computing and software engineering constitutes the basis of Simula. The strong focus on basic research is combined with both teaching of postgraduate students and development of commercial applications.
