In 1997, Chris founded Dominion Digital (now SingleStone and WayPath), a Virginia-based tech consulting firm, with a purpose to elevate humanity in business because this is good for people and good for business. Describing it back then as “putting the human before the resource”, this purpose was inspired by his visits to Camphill in Ireland, a community of adults with special needs, where he saw this human-centric impulse, ethos and experience cultivating more joy, meaning and productivity than any business setting he’d encountered. Specifically, Camphill’s belief that we all have special needs, and we all have special gifts, and its respect for the dignity and equality of each person, left a lasting and growing impression on him. Chris resigned as CEO in 2017, with the company in exceptionally caring and capable hands, and years later it continues to thrive and grow on-purpose. He now serves on the company’s board of directors and in a role called In Service With Our Community, focused primarily on bridging mainstream society and communities on the fringes.
