Jim Chen

Jim Chen has been working in the medical field since 1989, with experience as an Attending Staff Surgeon at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center and Overlake Medical Center & Clinics. In 1992, they founded and became the Chief Scientific Officer of Light Sciences Inc., where they led pre-clinical testing of light activated drugs and clinical study design for phase I, II, and III trials on multiple oncologic and benign indicators. From 2011 to 2020, they worked as a Scientific Consultant at Chen Consulting. Currently, they are Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Singletto, where they are working with the foremost experts and entrepreneurial leaders in pathogen-destroying singlet oxygen solutions, creating novel solutions needed to face the important medical and health challenges of today and tomorrow, and working with healthcare-focused and general consumer brands and manufacturers to provide solutions for their existing and future products, technology, and systems.

Jim Chen obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1983. Jim previously earned a Master of Science (MS) in Exercise Physiology from the University of Washington in 1979. Theirundergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Marine Biology, was obtained from The Evergreen State College in 1976. Additionally, they hold certifications from the State of Washington and the State of Michigan, both obtained in 1983.
