Vp, Molecular Biology at Singular Genomics

Daan Witters has a strong background in molecular biology and research. Daan is currently Vice President of Molecular Biology at Singular Genomics, where they have held various roles since 2018. Prior to Singular Genomics, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at the California Institute of Technology, where they focused on developing handheld technology for nucleic acid amplification and pathogen detection in clinical samples. During their time at KU Leuven, Daan Witters worked as a PhD student, specializing in isothermal DNA amplification and single-molecule DNA and protein detection.

Daan Witters obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from KU Leuven in 2007. Daan then pursued an Erasmus Program in Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from 2007 to 2008. Later, they completed their Masters in Bioengineering at KU Leuven from 2007 to 2009. Daan Witters furthered their education at KU Leuven, earning a PhD in Biotechnology from 2009 to 2013. Additionally, they obtained a Project Management Certificate in Technology and Management education from Caltech.
