Simon Hübner's work experience begins in 2007 as a student assistant at Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald, where they worked on tracing individual particles in 2D dust crystals in a RF plasma. Simon also served as a student assistant at INP Greifswald, where they optimized barrier coatings on SiO2 basis produced by an atmospheric RF plasma jet.

In 2009, Hübner joined Eindhoven University of Technology as a PHD Candidate, focusing on their research in a specific field until 2014.

From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Researcher at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
