Tom Dekel has over 10 years of experience in engineering and material science. In 2022, they began working as an Image Quality Engineer for SIONYX. Prior to that, they were a Project Engineer at RL Controls, LLC since 2021. From 2015 to 2021, they were a Technical Programs Manager/Systems Engineer for a Government Agency, where they were responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of acquisition projects in airborne sensors (hardware and software). Tom also worked closely with vendors and end-users, oversaw system improvements, and presented progress reports and deliverables to senior management. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Research in Material Science at UMass Boston, where they studied electrical properties of Gold, grew layers of different materials in the lab, and conducted lab experiments to test theories. Additionally, they were a Teacher Assistant, teaching Quantitative Reasoning to undergraduates and providing private tutoring in mathematics.
Tom Dekel attended Newton North High School from 2006 to 2009. Tom then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Physics and Math from UMass Boston in 2014. In October 2021, they obtained a Genetec Certified: Video management solution certification from Genetec.
