Rien Lagerwerf

Rien Lagerwerf, PhD, is a Senior Mathware Engineer at Sioux Technologies, where they develop mathematical models and solve complex problems for clients including ASML and ThermoFisher. Rien previously served as a PhD student at CWI, focusing on machine learning algorithms for 3D Computed Tomography, and was a research assistant at the University of Cambridge, specializing in limited angle tomography. They earned a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Twente, where they also completed their Bachelor of Science in Technical Mathematics. Additionally, Rien has experience presenting their research at the Weizmann Institute of Science and held roles in various organizations, including as an analyst at ASSET Rail.
