Roberto Trotta

Professor Of Theoretical Physics at SISSA

Roberto Trotta is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at SISSA since October 2020 and leads a cross-disciplinary group in machine learning and data science. Currently a Scientific Advisory Board member at Rachael S.r.l. and affiliated with Imperial College London as both a Visiting Professor and Professor of Astrostatistics since August 2008, Roberto has an extensive background in supervising research groups and teaching at various academic levels. Previous roles include Director of the Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication at Imperial College, Reader and Senior Lecturer in Astrophysics, and Visiting Faculty at MIB Trieste School of Management since October 2023. Roberto held leadership positions in data analysis consulting, such as Director at Data Fusion Consultants Ltd and contributed to the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences as a Next Einstein Fellow. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Theoretical Physics from ETH Zürich, a PhD in Physics from the University of Geneva, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching from Imperial College London.
