A climate tech startup developing an interactive web-based decision support toolset to AI machine learning calculates (i.e., site, situation, structure specific) flood risk data of individual property and its optimal flood mitigation methods from a BIM/GIS database structured within an environmental justice and equity framework. A leading-edge extended reality interface utilizing risk data visualization theory within emergency management doctrine will communicate the needed actionable information in an understandable manner to help professionals, officials, and residents make better-informed decisions for self-determination in the city of New Orleans, one of the most hazard-prone urban cities in the world. Ultimately, the web portal will enhance the adaptability and resiliency of New Orleans to be the archetype for a just and equitable city in the time of climate change. Furthermore, NOLA as the pilot city will be used in the design thinking process to distill an inductive data, code, and method in scaling to other aggregated levels (e.g., local, regional, national, global), and different types of climate crisis (i.e., geological, hydrological, meteorological, human-made).
