Layla Atya is the CEO and Chief Risk Officer of Zala International, where they lead a cutting-edge insurance and technology firm specializing in parametric insurance, cybersecurity, and commercial specialty insurance. Currently, Layla also serves as the Chief Insurance/Underwriting Officer at Covrzy, an Indian insurtech company, and holds advisory roles at Sitata and other insurtech startups. They have previously contributed to academia as a Data Scientist at the University of Haifa, led research initiatives at Salahaddin University-Erbil, and co-founded the Crisis Intervention Center in Ukraine. Layla has an extensive educational background, including a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Management Studies from the University of Haifa and advanced studies in Mergers & Acquisitions Strategy from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
