Daniel B. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Daniel started their career as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at UC Berkeley - College of Chemistry in 2013. Daniel then worked as an Analytical Operations Intern at Genentech in 2015. From 2011 to 2015, they held multiple positions at UC Berkeley - Dept. of Chemical Engineering, including Lab Assistant, Reader, Graduate Student Instructor, and Undergraduate Student Researcher.
In 2015, Daniel became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they also had a short extension of their Ph.D. work. Daniel then joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2020. During their time there, they conducted research in the field of catalytic production of epoxides.
In 2021, Daniel joined Boston Metal as an R&D Electrochemical Scientist, where they developed new anodes, electrolytes, and process conditions for molten oxide electrolysis. Daniel also oversaw project and program management tasks, including the design and fabrication of self-heated MOE cells and stakeholder engagement.
Currently, Daniel is the Head of Technology at SiTration, Inc., starting in 2023.
Daniel B. has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Daniel also has a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to that, they attended James Logan High School for their high school education.
