SK bioscience successfully developed South Korea’s first COVID-19 vaccine, SKYCovione, through global collaboration with partners including CEPI, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and GSK. We have also advanced the development of a next-generation universal vaccine targeting sarbecoviruses.

Our innovation leadership is demonstrated by a robust portfolio: SKYCellflu, the world’s first quadrivalent cell-cultured influenza vaccine to obtain WHO Prequalification; SKYZoster, the world’s second herpes zoster vaccine; and SKYVaricella, the world’s second WHO PQ-certified varicella vaccine. These achievements reflect our long-standing expertise in vaccine science and global regulatory capabilities. SK bioscience continues to expand its R&D pipeline across pneumococcal conjugate vaccines, mRNA-based vaccines, and vaccines for cervical cancer, typhoid, rotavirus, and other infectious diseases—through strategic partnerships with global public and private institutions. 

Our state-of-the-art vaccine manufacturing plant, L HOUSE, is a global hub for vaccine production, equipped with end-to-end capabilities spanning drug substance and drug product manufacturing. Designed to meet the highest international quality and regulatory standards, L HOUSE enables rapid, large-scale, and flexible vaccine production to respond to global public health needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the facility played a critical role in supporting large-scale manufacturing for partners such as AstraZeneca, reinforcing SK bioscience’s position as a trusted partner in global vaccine supply and pandemic preparedness.
