Jan Bauer

Jan Bauer is a prominent legal professional with extensive experience in private equity law. Currently serving as a Partner and Head of the German PE Practice, as well as the Managing Partner of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates' German offices since October 2018, Jan has established a strong reputation in the field. Prior to this, Jan was a Partner and Co-Head of the German PE Practice at Gleiss Lutz, where tenure spanned from May 2000 to October 2018, also holding roles as a member of the Executive Committee and Managing Partner of the Frankfurt Office. Jan began a legal career as a Foreign Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP from 2002 to 2003 and holds a Doctor of Law (PhD) degree from the University of Tübingen.
