Scott Vance

Scott Vance is currently Of Counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where they lead a team providing legal advisory services on federal tax system rules. Vance previously served as Associate Chief Counsel (Income Tax and Accounting) at the Internal Revenue Service from 2022 to 2025 and held the position of Principal at KPMG's Washington National Tax, consulting on various tax accounting matters from 2002 to 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's National Tax Department from 1991 to 2002. Vance earned a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, a BA in Folklore and Mythology from Harvard University, and an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
