Rod Oatis

Rod Oatis has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rod started their career in 1994, working as an Information Systems Operator - Analyst for the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. In this role, they liaised between Base Operation, Facilities Management, and Army elements to fulfill operational requirements. Rod also provided status reports and briefs on ongoing and future projects, and was responsible for implementing and operating an information system.

After their military service, Oatis worked as a Technical Instructor for various companies. From 2019 to 2020, they were a CompTIA Technical Instructor at ACI Learning, where they provided classroom training and mentorship for CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+. Prior to that, they worked as a Technical Instructor for SAP BusinessObjects from 2004 to 2009, delivering education offerings and working with the team to develop course materials.

Oatis also has experience as a Sr. Consultant at Fusion Consulting, Inc. (2011-2018), where they were a lead resource for SAP Analytics, SAP HANA, and APOS solutions. Rod was responsible for business development scoping, managing project resources, creating detailed statements of work, and meeting customer expectations.

Additionally, Oatis has held positions as a Systems Administrator at CACI International (2009-2011) and as a Sr. Business Intelligence Consultant/Trainer at Venturi Technology Partners (2002-2004). In these roles, they were responsible for systems administration, user account management, installation and maintenance of software, and support for business intelligence solutions using various tools.

Earlier in their career, Oatis worked as a Technologies Consultant/Trainer at Enigma Consulting (2001-2002), implementing and supporting information management solutions using Seagate Software and Microsoft products. Rod also worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant/Trainer at DevCube Solutions, Inc. (2001) and as an Enterprise Information Management Consultant/Trainer at IMRglobal Corp (1999-2000), where they implemented, supported, and mentored users on information management solutions.

Rod Oatis obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology—Security from Western Governors University, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended The University of Southern Mississippi from 1993 to 1996, majoring in Management Information Systems. In their earlier education, they attended Baltimore City College from 1984 to 1987, studying Liberal Arts. Additionally, Rod Oatis has obtained various certifications, including but not limited to the CompTIA Project+ Certification in 2010 and the CompTIA Security+ Certification in 2009. Rod has also completed numerous training courses, such as Azure Administration Essential Training, Google Cloud Platform Essential Training, and Python Essential Training.
