Kris Lachance

Kris Lachance has worked in a variety of roles since 2014. In that year, they began as a Student Associate at Stikeman Elliott LLP, where they later became an Associate in the Private Equity Group. Kris'sresponsibilities included representing private equity sponsors and PE-backed companies in cross-border M&A. In 2018, they moved to Real Ventures as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Associate, where they were responsible for sourcing, diligence and supporting founders post-investment. In 2020, Kris co-founded The Commons (formerly Skillful), where they were Co-Founder, Advisor and Co-CEO. The Commons provides high quality, online education for tech industry careers and has over 1,000 community members who have been hired by companies like Stripe, Instacart and DoorDash. In 2022, Kris began their current role as Head of Growth at Basedash.

Kris Lachance received a Juris Doctor (J.D./B.C.L.) from McGill University - Faculty of Law from 2012 to 2015. Kris then completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the National University of Singapore in 2015, specializing in International Law. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from McGill University in History from 2009 to 2012.
