Simon Schmid

Simon Schmid is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in economic consulting, research, and partnership development. Currently, Simon serves as a Partner at SkillLab since February 2020, where responsibilities include generating new partnership opportunities and managing client relationships. In addition, Simon has been the Director of Just Skills Hub since September 2021, an initiative aimed at facilitating equitable workforce transitions for a green economy. Previous experience includes work as an Economic Consultant at EY, where Simon provided advice on operating models and organizational design, and served as a Research Associate at the Center for Transatlantic Relations, focusing on trade and commodity analysis. As a co-founder of the Maastricht University Green Office, Simon played a key role in establishing sustainability initiatives within the university. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in International Relations and Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Maastricht University.
