Skills42 is a social enterprise focusing on upskilling individuals in the use of the equipment required to be work-ready in sectors including Utilities, Waste Management, Distribution, Construction & EV tech.

Over the last 18 years our founding organisations have developed a strong and longstanding track record for working with people from these backgrounds; helping over 10,000 people in the process. As such Skills42 has the pedigree to make a positive difference to many more.

Despite our recent founding, our pedigree is strong, already resulting in Skills42 being the UK’s largest social enterprise training centre specialising in plant, specialist equipment, HGV and work readiness training.

A collaboration between Advantage42 and Training Places UK, we have over 200-years experience operating in the social impact, training, utilities, waste management and distribution sectors, helping thousands of people to better their lives in the process.

The sum of this knowledge and experience perfectly positions us to work with people from marginalized and stigmatized backgrounds and assist them in becoming work ready, upskilled, and able to enter the labour market.

Located just off the M62 in Huddersfield, we are the only dedicated training provider in the UK to operate from an live operational environment: our 83-acre waste management & recycling site at Bradley Park.

Our state-of-the-art skills centre, boasting over 12 training rooms and over 40 vehicles & pieces of equipment, will host a variety of bespoke programmes and accredited courses on a weekly basis.
