Andrew Chen is a software engineer who currently works at skio. Andrew has previously worked at Databricks, Pinterest, and Groupon. Andrew has a degree in computer science from Stanford University.

Andrew started their career as a software engineering intern at Groupon in June 2014. Andrew worked on the search team to include link level category signals into the search index. In May 2015, they interned at Pinterest where they wrote jobs and refactored search experiments dashboard to identify true local users in international countries based on the detected language of search queries. Andrew also created a naive bayes classifier to detect the entities of product rich pins. In January 2017, they joined Databricks as a software engineer and tech lead. Andrew worked on the cloud automation backend of the big data analytics platform from the creators of Apache Spark. Andrew also re-architected Spark worker nodes to a container based deployment model leveraging new technologies such as Docker, CoreOS, and Kubernetes. In November 2022, they joined skio as a software engineer.

Andrew Chen attended Dougherty Valley High School and then went on to study Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley. Andrew received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in EECS from UC Berkeley.
